On April 8, 2021, Jeanette Ratliff heard “Well done my good and faithful servant” as the Lord called her home. Born on March 7, 1947 in Delano, California, she was the daughter of Manuel Moran and Jennie Muñoz.
Jeanette graduated from Franklin High School in Stockton, California and went on to San Jose State before becoming an army wife. She worked civil services jobs and upon retiring, became an owner of Curves for Women for nearly 20 years. Jeanette had several talents, which included sewing, baking, cooking, painting, reading, and most of all making others feel loved and cared for.
Jeanette is survived by sons Thare John (Yvonne) Zilkan of Las Vegas, Dennis (Kelly) Ratliff of Virginia, and Gary L. (Rosalinda) Ratliff II of California; daughters Lisa (Bart) Schlehuber of California, Deborah (Lou) Unkrich of Ohio, and Denise (David) Black of Georgia; and 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters Cecilia Moran (Al Taylor) of California, Nellie (Jim) Welsh of Oregon; brothers Manual (Helen) Moran, Albert (Jermaine) Moran, and Robert (Tina) Moran all of California.
Besides her parents she is proceeded in death by her husband, Gary L. Ratliff of 28 years, three sisters, her former husband, Harry J. Zilkan, and a grandson.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 18 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Services follow the visitation. Jeanette will be laid to rest with her husband on May 4, 2021 at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
