

Jerry Lee Dean, 72, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather (Pa), uncle and friend passed from this earth on June 15th, 2013. His courageous will and determined spirit never faltered as he succumbed to a complication encountered during his long, hard fought battle with cancer.
Jerry was born on April 6th, 1941 in Tecumseh, Missouri, yet no truer Vegas native existed then he. Jerry moved with his family to Las Vegas in 1952 where he spent his life creating a lasting legacy that will forever be remembered by those he encountered. Jerry attended Las Vegas High School from 1956 to 1959, after which he enlisted in the United States Navy. Upon his return from the Navy, Jerry worked with is father at Dean Roofing Company, his family’s business, and for the past 58 years has taken great pride in helping establish it as one of the most respected roofing contractors in the state.
In 1959 Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Deanna Davenport, and together they started a family that would spread roots deep in the Las Vegas valley. Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Norman Dean; brother-in-law, Glen Hickman; sister-in-law, Marcia Bishop; and nephew, Steven Hickman. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Deanna; his four children, Michael, Teri, Christopher and Jennifer; daughter-in-laws, Debbie and Mishell; son-in-law, Sean Morris; grandsons, Jacob, Caleb, Lucas, Preston and Brennan; granddaughters, Juliana, Jamie, Josie, Elsa, Hayley and Isabel; his mother, Leila; brother, Dennis; sister, Judy; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Jerry lived every day of his life as an adventure and his loving wit and wisdom will be missed by all. His family was the most important part of his life. Visitation will be Thursday, June 20th, from 5-7 pm at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21st at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6601 W. Twain Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89103. Internment to follow at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Arrangements under the direction of Palm South Jones Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
