Joan was educated in the public schools of Philadelphia. Her religious training was in St Matthew Church 57th and Summer until Rev M. M. Lewis moved to Race and Vodger Street. Joan always believed that God was in her heart.
On August 9, 1959 she was united in marriage with Howard A. Armstead from this marriage they had three beautiful children; she always put her family first. Joan left Philadelphia 09/30/2010 and moved to Las Vegas her home.
Joan is survived by three children Nona, Chuckie, and Ever; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister.
