Joan Shriner, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, on her 75th birthday. She was born March 15, 1938, in Bemidji, Minn., and was a 47-year resident of Nevada. Joan was a retired English teacher of 42 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Francis Ward; her mother, Ruby Mae Hagelberg Ward; and her husband, Larry Shriner. Joan is survived by her daughter, Natasha Shriner of Las Vegas; her brother, John Ward (Brenda) of Las Vegas; and her niece, Annie Ward of Las Vegas. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 23, at Palm Mortuary-Downtown, 1325 N. Main St.
