Joe Alatorre

Joe Alatorre was born on July 21, 1943 at at home in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He was the son of Jose Alatorre and Anna Hernandez. Joe was raised in East Los Angeles with three siblings. He had two sisters: Rosa Guiterrez and Yolanda Zuno, and one younger brother Ruben Alatorre. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1961. Joe was a very good student, and generally did well in his courses. On February 14, 1978 Joe married Lucia Contreras at Chapel in California of Huntington Park, California. Joe was blessed with seven children: five sons: Jose, Jose II, David, Ruben, and Vincent; and two daughters: Christina and Francine. They were also blessed with 20 grandchildren, Rachel, Christian, Angel, Yasmin, Christopher, Vita, Jayden, Joey, Geneve, Cire, Eric, Vanessa, Alyssa, Melani, Vincent Jr., Vianna, Michael, Desire, Ilene, Hanna, and Yasmin. His primary occupation was business owner and loan officer. He was employed for over 40 years as a loan officer and business developer. His favorite pursuits were singing, reading. Joe had a knack for being able to multi-task in order to create time for all of his favorite pastimes. However, Joe's ever-present concern for others always took precedent. Joe Alatorre passed away on March 23, 2014 at Centennial Hospital, Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his wife, Lucia, seven children, two siblings, and 20 grandchildren. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary. Joe was laid to rest in Palm Northwest Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Northwest Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
