Joel David Acree

Joel David Acree, aged 67, passed away peacefully in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 13, 2026.

Born on December 29, 1958, Joel was the cherished son of the late Francine Garrison Whitaker and the stepson of the late Robert Mills Whitaker. He spent his life deeply connected to the desert landscape of the Las Vegas valley, sharing a lifelong bond with his late brothers, Ronnie Acree and Joseph Benjamin "Benny" Toler.

Joel’s greatest pride and legacy live on through his children. He leaves behind his devoted daughter, Athena Rene Acree-McDonald of San Diego, California, and his loving son, Joel David Acree II of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his extended family and the many lifelong friends who walked alongside him through his journey.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Francine; his stepfather, Robert; and his brothers, Ronnie and Benny.

Services to honor Joel’s life will take place on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Palm Mortuary - Northwest (6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131). Family and friends are invited to a public viewing beginning at 11:00 AM, with the formal memorial service to commence at 12:00 PM (Noon). Following the services, Joel will be laid to rest in a peaceful burial alongside his beloved brothers, Ronnie and Benny, bringing a generation of brothers back together at last.
