

John T. Hileman, a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel, died August 2, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada. A memorial service was held August 8 at Palm Mortuary. He was a WWII veteran who was a member of the Jolly Rogers 90th Bomb Group. In 1945, he married Lois, an Army nurse stationed with him in New Guinea, and they were married for forty-eight years. She and their family accompanied him on tours of duty in five states; the District of Columbia; Tripoli, Libya; Seoul, Korea; and the Philippines. In 1978, he retired in Las Vegas and became a builder of custom homes.
Survivors include daughters Sharon Hileman of Alpine, TX, and Tawni Hileman of Las Vegas; son Kirt Hileman of Spring Valley, OH; grandchildren Jennifer Hileman Tabios, Alexis Hileman, Heather Hileman, Todd Miknus, Scott Miknus, Robb Miknus; three great-grandchildren; sister Nancy Younger of El Cajon, CA; brothers James Hileman of Merced, CA, and Frank Hileman of Riverview, FL; twelve nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois; sisters Jane Smoot and Mary Lou Stewart; and brother William Hileman.
