September 3, 1982 – May 8, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jorge Mendoza, who left this world far too soon on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the age of 42.
Jorge was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife Amanda, their two cherished children, Isaiah and Thalia, his loving parents, Maria and Jesús, and his six siblings—José, John, Jesús Jr., Alejandro, Daniel, and Manuel—who all held a special place in his heart.
From a young age, Jorge developed a strong work ethic, instilled in him by his father, who taught him the craft of masonry. Those early lessons laid the foundation for Jorge’s lifelong dedication to hard work and responsibility. He later expanded his skillset to the power industry, building and maintaining power substations in a long and respected career. Jorge worked tirelessly to provide for his family, always driven by love and duty.
Jorge was a Christian man who revered God and sought to live by his faith. Though life presented him with many challenges, he never let go of his belief in God’s grace and tried each day to walk in faith. His spiritual strength was a quiet but powerful part of who he was.
He cherished time with his family above all else. Whether it was weekends at the lake enjoying water sports and fishing, family barbeques filled with laughter and good food, or road trips exploring the beauty of California and Nevada, Jorge made every moment count. His love for his family was unwavering and filled their lives with warmth and joy.
Jorge was admired by many for his boundless generosity and his unwavering willingness to help others, often putting the needs of others before his own. He had a heart of gold and made everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for.
He also had a deep passion for classic cars, especially lowriders. An exceptional mechanic with a natural talent for restoring vintage vehicles, Jorge spent countless hours in the garage tinkering with anything that had four wheels. He proudly entered his cars in shows and loved connecting with fellow enthusiasts who shared his appreciation for craftsmanship and culture.
While Jorge faced life’s ups and downs, his goodness always shone brighter. He will be remembered for his love, his strength, his faith, and the many lives he touched along the way.
Jorge will be laid to rest at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where friends and loved ones are invited to come pay their respects. His celebration of life service will follow the next day, Friday, June 6th, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Jorge Mendoza’s life was one of devotion, faith, and unforgettable memories. Though we grieve his loss, we celebrate the legacy he leaves behind and find comfort knowing he is at peace.
Rest in peace, Jorge. You will forever be missed and never forgotten.
