Josefa (Josie) V. Zuñiga, 97, of North Las Vegas died peacefully on Saturday, December 29, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 5, 1921, in Harlingen, Texas, and a Las Vegas Resident since 1961, Josie was an active parishioner at St. Christopher Catholic Church, and a devout servant of God. Selfless, endlessly generous, open, loving, and kind, “Gramma Josie” truly touched the lives of everyone she met.
Josie will be remembered by her four daughters; Olivia Roybal, Janie Triplett, Teodora “Lolly” Jones, and Delia Zuñiga-Vela, and two sons, Greg “Tito” Zuñiga and Bobby Zuñiga, all of Las Vegas; 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio; son, René Zuñiga; and grandson, Lonnie Roybal.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 6, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. 4-8pm, with a Rosary to begin at 6pm. Mass will be held Monday, January 7, 11am at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St., with burial to follow in Palm Memorial Park.
