

Msgr. Joseph Cosgrove, age 80, of Las Vegas, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Born September 20, 1935 in Ireland. Monsignor Cosgrove was ordained into the Priesthood on June 19, 1960 and accepted his first assignment at Nativity Catholic Church in El Monte, California. During his devotion to the Priesthood, he was assigned to eight different Parishes in the Los Angeles area, ultimately receiving the assignment of Founding Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Moorpark, California in 1981. He was named Monsignor on June 6, 1995. After his retirement in 2005, he moved to Las Vegas, celebrating Mass at St. John Neumann and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Churches. The youngest of thirteen children, he is survived by his brother, Michael, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 9 am - 12 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, with a Funeral Mass to follow at noon, all at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2575 W El Campo Grande Drive, N Las Vegas. Local arrangements entrusted to Palm Northwest Mortuary.
Services in California entrusted to Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks, West Lake Village, California. Burial will take place at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley, California.
