It is October and I just found out today that Joe had passed away.  I had not seen him since the early MFS days.  He was one of the original pros at that gym.  He had already competed in the UFC, but he was very polite and humble, and willing to help or teach anybody. 
 Even if they were brand new to training, which I was.  I liked and respected him very much.  He was a skilled and talented fighter, but such a nice person, which most people would not expect when thinking about their expectations of what a "pro fighter" is.  This is terrible news.  He was so very kind.  My sincere condolences to his family.  

Slick you will be forever remembered as an amazing soul with a kindred spirit. I remember Throwdown then turned Syndicate - Moving locations... I remember how we use to train in the evenings or early mornings on Saturdays - how you and Sid would come out to eat with me and we would hang out chat and laugh.

These were all precious memories I will have to keep you alive. There are many many more - You will be missed by everyone, as you were loved by many people. Thank you for being the one to reach out and help me join in on learning MMA and being the first to be so kind to me. 

I will always pray for you and Sid - and continue to do so. I wish you and your family nothing but the best and may you continue to watch over us in Heaven.

So very sorry to hear about Joe's passing. He was one of the nicest people I have met and always willing to lend a hand, give advice or offer words of encouragement. The world has lost a great person and teacher but heaven has gained quite an Angel.  My thoughts and prayers go out to family amd friends. Rest in peace, Joe.
