Judy was born on January 8th, 1941 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Thomas and Evelyn McNamee. She graduated after twelve years of Catholic school and her faith remained important to her throughout her life. Judy met Charles ‘Chuck’ Stephenson at the roller rink and the couple wed on November 4th, 1961 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Together they followed Chuck’s Air Force career from North Dakota, to Montana, to Minnesota, and eventually his retirement back in Grand Forks, where it all began.
She was known for her quick wit and sassy personality and especially loved sewing, crocheting, puzzle building, a little gambling and always enjoying something sweet! In her later years she found joy in family cruises and vacations. Her latest obsession was the Las Vegas Golden Knights hockey team, never missing a game, and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Judy is survived by her three children; Randy and Norma Stephenson and their two daughters, Alexandrea and Elizabeth; Sandy and Jeff Sutliffe and their three children, Ryan (his fiance, Paige), Derek and Rachel; and Andy and Victoria Stephenson. She is also survived by her brother, Bob McNamee (Florida) and her sister Rosie Boese (California). She is preceded in death by her late husband, Chuck; her parents, Thomas and Evelyn McNamee; brother, Thomas McNamee; sisters Marge Kilmer and Patricia Hendrickson.
Surrounded by God’s grace, she now rests peacefully, watching over her family she so dearly loved.
A private, family-only service, will be held on Thursday, February 5th at 2:00 pm at Palm Northwest Mortuary
