

June was born in Boston to the late Michael and Olga Hezekiah. She was raised and educated in Lynn, graduating from Lynn English High School in 1948. June was preceded in death by her older brother, Michael Hezekiah.
June married her first husband, U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Robert W. Wright in 1954. While stationed in Germany they had their only child, Kim Elizabeth.
With the family stationed in Hawaii, June was a bookkeeper at KGMB-AM-FM-TV for Cecil Heftel. She served as the bookkeeper for his successful 1976 political campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives representing Hawaii. She then earned her real estate license and became a real-estate agent in Hawaii. In the early 1980s she opened June’s Tobacco Shop at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
June later married U.S. Army Major General Harry W. Brooks, Jr., in 1981, and they relocated to San Mateo, California. June managed the accounts receivable department at his business, Western Computer Group/Gurney Wholesale, until her retirement in 1992. In December, 1998, they relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. Harry preceded her in death in August, 2017.
Accompanying her husband Harry, a Board Member/Trustee for over 20 years with the Freedom Forum, she traveled the world to places like Beijing, Hong Kong, Croatia, Jakarta, Indonesia, Philippines, London, India, Africa and South America.
June is survived by her daughter Kim Arnold and her husband Keith; sister Dianne Mitchell and her husband Robert, all of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Florence Hezekiah of Lynn, MA; step-sons, Harry W. Brooks, III and his wife, Euraine, of Washington, D.C, Wayne Brooks (deceased), and Craig Brooks, Las Vegas, her nieces and nephews, Laurie Hezekiah-Cox, Shelli Hezekiah, and Valerie Collins, all of Lynn, MA, Terri Martin, Palm Harbor, Florida, Ronald Mitchell, Dover, New Hampshire, and Michael Mitchell, Las Vegas, NV, cousins, and her in-laws. June also leaves three aides who assisted her in the last few years of her life, Linda Oracoy, Imelda Ceon, and Ludy Farinas, and her Maltese, Peanut.
