Cantwell & Edythe Brown Cantwell, she grew up and attended school in Beech Grove, IN and came to Las Vegas, NV in the late 1940's. She wrote LV news articles for the column, "About Town", served as an officer in the Fifth St. Elementary School PTA, and established the first Adaptive Brownie Troop for mainstreaming handicapped Girl Scouts in So. Nev. She was an accomplished seamstress, an avid reader & crossword puzzler, and she looked forward to her favorite holiday, St. Patrick's Day, with the parade & a Guinness toast. She was a longtime member of The Desert Spiritualist Church & most recently, she attended Center For Positive Living. In 1975, she married her surviving husband, Lester Holmes, whom she referred to as "my hero". Also surviving her are two daughters, Tina Lumley and Tona Robinson (James), both of Las Vegas; stepsons Tim Holmes (Las Vegas) & Dan Holmes (Florence, OR); sister Virginia Cantwell Brooks; sisters-in-law Charlotte Cantwell (Las Vegas) & Rose Cantwell (Edmonds, WA);brother-in-law David Dumond (Indianapolis, IN); five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren plus a multitude of nieces & nephews.
