Kathey, I remember you as the first person to teach me some English in Rome. If there is something beyond this world, may it be a peaceful haven for your spirit.

Las Vegas Manor was the place that Kathey called home for over 5 years and loved living here and making lots of friends.
   Her Best Friend Charles Cooper took very good care of her every day.  He shopped for her; he waited on her and they had plenty of stories that they told each other.  He is so devested of her loss and misses his friend every minute of the day.  Charlie knows that Kathey went to Heaven to see God, and he knows God will take good care of her and that she's in a great place.
She played Mexican Train with 5-7 residents about 3 times a week. 
Residents loved Kathey and she will be missed by all.

Kathey is missing from our lives today and she has left a hole in our hearts that no one can fill. Kathey has been part of my entire adult life as my father was her life partner for 25 years.  They were so close, that at times I felt like she was my stepmother. I would wonder when my Dad left my Mom! They were thick as thieves, attached at the hip, she was his Cher and he was her Sonny! I will miss visiting with Kathey and her Boo (my Dad Chris) and their turtle Esquire and fish George.

I met Kathey through my father several times over the past several decades. She had a nice smile and was generally pleasant to be around, but that is not why I am writing here today. 

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Kathey for being such a great dear friend to my father Chris Cooper. Your over 20-year friendship with my father brought out the very best in him. A greater sense of kindness, empathy, understanding, and greater purpose: all profound gifts you have given him. The ability to live in the moment and to let go of mistakes of the past thus have been bestowed upon him. 

My father is not a perfect person, but thanks to your legendary friendship, he is a far greater man for it. Around you my father was the man I had always hoped he would be, that I know he has always been in his heart. Noble, generous, thoughtful, and above all loyal. 

Many will grieve your passing while I shall insist that we do so while remembering the old adage: Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened. 

Kathey, know that you will always be remembered fondly as you have made an impact that means the world to me; you made my father’s life exponentially richer, and for that you have my gratitude.

I just found out that Kathey passed away.  I want to offer my condolences to her family.  She will certainly be missed.  

I’m a resident at LV Manor where Kathey and I became Bingo and Hallmark Movie Buddies rather quickly!! 

I appreciated her mind and heart.  I also liked hearing her stories about Paris.  She had a great smile  😀

It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to someone who became more than just a patient—Kathey, you became family. From the very first day I cared for you, your kindness, gratitude, and warmth filled every moment. You never failed to greet me with, “I have tea for you,” and our daily WhatsApp messages, where you shared everything about your day, became a cherished part of my routine.

No one appreciated the little things more than you did. You always made sure to say thank you, never taking anything for granted. And no one, as you often reminded me, could shower you or do your hair quite like I could. It was an honor to care for you, to be part of your world, and to share in your laughter and stories.

Oh, Kathey, how I will miss you. You always spoke about your daughter in Italy, sharing memories and moments that meant so much to you. So many conversations, so many little details that made you, you. But I take comfort in knowing you are reunited with your beloved sister, whom you adored so much. And I know that wherever you are, you’re still asking me about Natalia, always wanting to see her, because she held such a special place in your heart too.

Rest peacefully, my dear Kathey. You will always be loved and remembered.

I have very fond memories of Kathey when she first arrived in Italy.   We spent a lot of time together.  She set up my first laptop and connected me to the web! Tired of Italian food, we often went out for Chinese food at a place near Cassetta Mattei. Then, we would always finish an evening at Gelatomania (or Gelomania?)      Love, Carol
