

Kay was born in Seattle, WA to Lynn and Eunice Hewitt.
She moved with her family when she was young to Pomona, CA. There she met her lifelong partner and love of her life Richard at Fremont Junior High School in Pomona. They married and embarked on a lifelong journey together and made a very good team. They moved to Las Vegas, NV and built a successful and well known plating business whose customers were the major gaming companies and casinos. Their success afforded them to travel extensively to France and Italy and take a European tour. They traveled on the Concorde to England. They took many ocean cruises including a cruise to Alaska. They took their family on yearly Christmas vacations to various destinations and some were on their 40 foot motor home. After a couple of vacations to Hawaii they bought a condo on Maui that had a beautiful view of the ocean. They bought a beautiful ranch in Rockville, UT which is right at the entrance of Zion National Park. There she enjoyed entertaining and riding their horses. She and Richard enjoyed some Broadway shows in NYC. One of her cherished memories was going with Richard on their Harley Davidson up the California coast to Canada. Kay Loved to go to concerts and shoes in Las Vegas as well as sporting events. She loved to golf and did so on various beautiful golf courses. Kay was a wonderful cook and loved the holidays. She was known for her kindness and generosity. She loved life and lived it fully.
Kay was proceeded in death by her Mother Eunice LaFave and father Lynn Hewitt as well as her brothers Kenny Hewitt and Rick Harris.
Kay is survived by her husband Richard Duran, daughter Sherry Duran, son Richard (Rusty) Duran, Jr., 3 granddaughters Alana Duran, Misty Duran and Melody Duran (Kyle), 4 great grandchildren Kai, Mia, Milo and Emyla as well as her brother Jerry Hewitt (Sally).
She will be greatly missed.
In Lieu of flowers a donation to Kay’s favorite charity – Save the children in her memory would have made her very happy.
Private services were previously held at Palm Northwest Mortuary, Celebration of Life services will be announced at a later date in 2025.
