Keith was born on February 4th, 1924 at Virgina St Hospital in Hollywood, CA. He was the son of Winford and Jean Hamlin. Raised in Santa Monica, CA. He grew up with two older sisters Betty and Virginia.
Keith graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1943. Keith enjoyed some courses more than others. His favorite class in high school was woodshop.
Most folks would say that Keith was shy until they got to know him. Those who were privileged to know him well learned that he was a solid, good friend. The friends that he made, Keith kept. Later in life, he became long time friends with Al and Utahna Arreola.
On January 10, 1946 Keith married Betty Jane Slane at First Baptist Church of West Los Angeles, CA.
Keith was a good father to his children. He had “old fashioned” parental values and could handle typical family conflicts in a fair and calm manner. Keith was blessed with 3 children, John, Michael and Suzanne. They were also blessed with 4 Grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Jonathan and Kyle.
His primary occupation was a Machinist making air plane parts for Boeing Ari Craft. He was also employed as a machinist Tool + Die maker during his younger years.
Keith was an Army Veteran. He served during the WWII
When Keith 's retirement finally arrived in 1990. His new life involved relocating to Las Vegas, NV. In retirement, he found new pleasure in wood-working hobbies.
Keith passed away on June 2nd, 2019 at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, NV. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty and his son Michael and his grandson Jonathan. He is survived by his son John, daughter Suzanne, grandchildren Jennifer, Stephanie and Kyle, great grandchildren Abby, Luke, Gillian, Gemma and Lily.
A Memorial service for Keith will be held at Palm Northwest Mortuary 6701 North Jones Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada 89131 on Saturday August 24, 2019 at 11:00am.
