Kemis J. Dengler, born to Margaret C. Dengler and Gerald “Jiggs” Dengler, passed away November 30, 2018, in Las Vegas NV with his wife and son by his side. Kem was born and raised in Fredonia, NY. He attended
Fredonia Normal School and Fredonia High School. Kem earned his business degree from Bryant Stratton Business Institute in Buffalo, NY after serving in the United States Army at Fort Dix, NJ.
At the young age of 26, Kem purchased Edwards Chevrolet Co. in Westfield, NY. He owned and operated his dealership, Kem Dengler Chevrolet and Oldsmobile, Inc. for the next 26 years. Kem was very active in his profession and community. He was a 26-year member of the NYS Automobile Dealers Association, serving on its Board of Directors for 15 Years and its Education Committee for 8 years. Ultimately presiding as the First Vice-President of the Association. Kem was also a member of the Westfield Academy and Central School Board of Education for 10 years. He was the President of the board for two years. He was also a loyal 26-year member of the Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club.
Shortly after the sale of his dealership, Kem was appointed as the Executive Vice-President of the Northern Chautauqua Chamber of Commerce where he served for 10 Years. He and his wife then moved to Las Vegas, NV. He was appointed Supervisor of the Eifel Tower Experience at Paris Las Vegas. Kem managed the Eifel Tower for 10 years when he finally decided to retire in 2010.
Kem is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois, his son, Timothy, his daughter in-law, Alison, and his beloved grandson, Jeffrey, of Pittsburgh, PA. In addition, his brother James (Fredonia, NY) and sister Lynne Coker (Paxville, SC). He was preceded in death by his and his two sons, Jeffrey and Todd, his father Gerald, his mother Margaret (Fredonia NY) and sister Margaret Hawley (Plano, TX).
