

Kevin Dean Rieves
Kevin Dean Rieves was born on August 20, 1958 to Carole Bonner in Boston, MASS. Kevin was the youngest of three children. Kevin grew up in the Jamacia Plaines Projects and attended Jamacia Plains High School. At an early age Kevin had to drop out of school to take care of his mother. He later completed his high school education.
While still living in Boston, on March 2, 1973, Kevin welcomes his first born son “Little” Kevin into the world. Kevin worked at W.D. Trading for some years.
He then went to Blue Cross/Blue Shield as a temp where he met and later married his first wife Karen Collier. Through this union on November 27, 1985. Kevin and Karen welcomed his second son Isaiah into the world.
In 1990, Kevin relocated to Oakland, California. Kevin became a bus operator for AC Transit where he stayed for twenty plus years until his retirement.
In early 1996 Kevin met his second wife Kathy Edwards and were married in June of 1997. From this union, on May 5,1998, Kevin and Kathy welcomed into this world his only beloved daughter Kierra.
Kevin had accepted Christ and had been a member of Covenant Worship Center in Oakland, California and then with his wife Kathy and their daughter moved his membership to the Berkeley Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Berkley, California where he served as a Deacon, sang in the choir and worked with the brotherhood.
After his health began to fail, Kevin relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. Kevin has many friends and worked with the local NA brothers & sisters helping those with substance abuse.
Kevin loved his three children, along with his nieces and nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Carole Spivey, sister Denise Rieves and father Tim Spivey.
He leaves to cherish his memory his two sons, Kevin of Boston, MA and Isaiah of Lynn, MA and his daughter Kierra of Oakland, CA, six grandchildren, Kevisha, Quianna, Kevin III, Sparkyl, Deandra and Miylan, one brother Robert Rieves of Oakland, CA. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends from the East Coast to the West Coast.
