LaMont passed away January 19th 2019 surrounded by Family. He leaves behind his wife Judy, son Brad (Laura) with granddaughter Korlynn Baizley Beynon, son Blake (Ty) with soon to be born grandson Diederik Lamont Beynon, daughter Effie Jane (Roger). Siblings Frances, Dell (Joan), Sandra, Merlin (Kris), Doug, Donna, Kert (Rose), Mary (Bill). He was preceded in death by Brothers LaMar and Kevan.
LaMont was suffering quite a bit in his last few years, gradually losing some of the things he loved. Eating with friends and family, playing racquetball, building things the absolute best AND most efficient way they could be. I think the thing that he missed most was not being able to be as useful as he always was. He literally moved mountains, one truckload at a time, to support many people in the Las Vegas Valley. He would never hesitate to offer his help to anyone that needed it. Over his life, we believe he saw, more and more, the gifts he was blessed with and knew he couldn’t let them go to waste. He was happiest seeing others enjoy anything he could provide them.
He was a magician. Usually they rely on sleight of hand and other tricks to amaze their audiences. LaMont’s trick could only be seen over a longer span of time. He could see Cinderella’s pumpkin coach in his mind and will it into existence, single handedly in many cases. His family saw it first hand at every house they moved into. Everything he touched was transformed for the better and there are families in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas that are touched by that every day. This world lost a lot with his passing, but we find comfort knowing that he’ll live on within his friends and family and it’s no exaggeration to say that it would take an army to erase the fingerprint he left on this world.
