Larnell,

I can't believe I won't be seeing you on Cheyenne's campus anymore.  You always sparked my day with your zest for life, kind words for all, your "high 5's", and of course, the extra credit you gave me daily.  You will be sorely missed.  Rest, Larnell.  You earned it.

We loved Larnell she babysit for us a long time, she was so mature and respectful for her age. we trusted her fully with our kids and they loved her too. and when she would visit macon, she would visit us and talk about fond memories. may God bless the family and her son , she lived  a  bless and full life.

I am, along with my children are in disbelief still. Over the last 5 or 6 years every time I would see Ms.  Tillman it would involve shopping. She always was so cheery and with a smile. I would always ask her to let Ms. McClary know I said hello.  At Cheyenne she was never my teacher, but I do know her spirit touched many! I am praying for you, Vernon and the family members.

My heart is so broken over your passing you was a good person,teacher,friend,mentor I enjoyed having you as my teacher and when I would see you after graduation you still show me love and told me how proud you was of me and my accomplishments. You will be missed may you rest in peace.

Larnell was one of the most caring and giving persons. While at CHS, she always supported the House 4 team with donations and participation.  You will be missed.  Sue

I remember my 1st encounter with Ms. Tillmon. She was my 11th grade English teacher at Cheyenne. I called myself acting out in her class in front of my friends not knowing she knew who i was and who my family was because we went to the same church. She picked up the phone and asked who at second Baptist she should call including my dad and God parents. That was the beginning of a great relationship with this sweet lady.  She wouldn't tell me how she knew my family but a few years later I was pregnant and ran into her in the hallways at church. Every time i seen her she was always so friendly, told me how proud she was of me always concerned about my daughter and always said she loved me. Heaven truly got an angel and the world lost a jewel. I'm honored to have known Ms. Tillmon she will truly be missed.

Larnell loved being a part of the  Ballard Hudson Class of 1970  “Tigers” . She certainly will remain in our hearts as we celebrate each reunion.” Some people comes into our lives,  leave footprints  on our hearts, and we are never the same.”  “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

Our hearts are deeply saddened by the 
passing of our classmate.  Losing someone that we care about is not easy.  Larnell had a beautiful spirit and an infectious smile.  We are blessed to have been able to share in her life and the fond memories will live in our hearts forever.   Our warmest thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this sad time and the days to come.  

Larnell was a close classmate and a soror.   When she came to Macon she would call and come for a visit. She definitely   will be missed.  My condolences to her family.  May God give you comfort and Peace.

Larnell was my sister’s (Gleniss Hill Carswell) line sister when they went through the initiation process for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at Fort Valley State. She always talked about how they would come to our house to get away from their Big Sisters & referred to my family as her family. She always brought back so many pleasant childhood memories for me. She will be truly missed. My sincere condolences to the family. By the way, I took the picture of her with her line sisters in the red mini dresses in front of our home in Fort Valley in 1973. 

What a beautiful spirited Lady!  Ms. Tillmon carried herself with so much grace. She greeted everyone with a huge smile. Whenever we encountered each other, she would say, “You know the first thing I want to ask about. How’s my baby?”  She never missed asking about my daughter. And always wanted to see pictures of her. When it was time for us to depart from our conversation, she would say, “You know I’m proud of you and thank you for sharing your baby with me.” I will truly miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with the Tillmon family.

As I walked through the Cheyenne Campus there’s a familiar face I recognize at least once a week greeting everyone she sees. I notice that this small framed lady has a giant personality which is only surpassed by her smile and genuine greeting. After seeing her from a distance for a few weeks I approached her and introduced myself. Ms. Tillmon stated how much she appreciated my service and expressed how much pride she had in the uniform I was wearing. She would go on to say how members of her family served in the military and I reminded her so much of her brother. Many days we talked about a variety of subjects, but her appreciation for servicemen and women was at the top of her list. This appreciation was only second to teaching and her students. Ms. Tillmon put the word “Class” in classy. Her appearance was always of the finest quality and it was evident she took time to coordinate her magnificent wardrobe. Dear Angel, you will truly be missed, but I promise “never forgotten”. May your Family know how much we adored you and a sincere thank you for all you continued to do for children and falculty at Cheyenne High School.
