It is with sadness, and heavy hearts that we announce the death of George “Larry” Middlebrook, who passed on April 19th after battling cardiac disease. “Larry” or Mr. M known by all of his sons’ friends, was born in New York City, NY in 1939. He was active, during his life, coaching his sons Little League baseball teams and was passionate about bowling. Throughout his bowling career he bowled 7 perfect “300” games and was known as ”Lefty” and “Larry Legend” on the lanes. He was a proud member and shop steward for Teamsters Local 813 in New York who represented truck drivers. He was a truck driver for over 30 years and enjoyed traveling the roadways and seeing the country. He was a Volunteer Fireman in his hometown of New Hyde Park and was on their softball team. He was a very proud man who loved his family more than anything that life had to offer him. For Larry the act of living was about being the best father, grandfather, and friend that he could be. He moved to Las Vegas to be close to his son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons to enjoy the sun and to watch his grandsons grow. He and his wife, Josephine, enjoyed going to the casinos and playing video poker. He is survived by his wife of 52 years; his sons and daughters–in- law, George and Christina (Dowd), Joseph and Kimberly (Frey), Dean and Elizabeth (Diaz); 5 grandsons, Conner, Gavin, Joseph, Parker and Jackson.
