Laura Ann Thibodeau

Laura A. Thibodeau was born on August 29, 1963 at Centinela Valley Community Hospital in Inglewood, Calfornia. Her parents were Barry and Maureen Thibodeau. Laura was raised in Cupertino, California, McMinnville, Oregon and Prior Lake, Minnesota. Laura was raised with one sibling, a younger brother Michael H. Thibodeau. Laura took part in the AA Swim team, softball and waterskiing. She was also a Girl Scout (Brownie) and apart of the Foreign Exchange Student Program (spent time in Switzerland, Mexico). In her spare time she liked collecting coins and stamps from her families travels. Laura graduated from Prior Lake High School in 1981. Laura’s practical work ethic carried over into her college years. Her logical mind permitted her to work hard without succumbing to the usual distractions of college life where her favorite course was Aviation-flying. An objective and conscientious individual, Laura reveled in the security of her family. Laura and Lynn have been together for 31 years. One of Laura’s most endearing qualities was her uncanny ability to remember important dates and anniversaries, and her unending enthusiasm for organizing a celebration for her family and friends. Her primary occupation was Correctional Officer. She was employed for 15 years with the Desert Regional Center and 8 years with LVMPD. Laura was a team player who certainly lived out the motto of “give me a job, and I will get it done.” When it came time to travel or take a vacation, Laura used her scheduling expertise to make sure everyone and everything was ready to go. Favorite vacations included lots of Mexico trips, Hawaii, Switzerland (at 17) and a family trip to Spain. She is survived by her love Lynn; her parents Barry and Maureen Thibodeau; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Dawn Thibodeau; nephews, Andre and Cobi Thibodeau and a niece Esme Thibodeau. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary and Cemetery of Las Vegas, NV. Laura will be laid to rest somewhere amongst the Pacific Ocean. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
