Leonel Eulalio Rios Bernal

Leonel “Leo” Eulalio Rios Bernal, age 78, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Marta, of 55 years. He leaves behind his daughter and son-in-law, Carmen and John Nelson; his son and daughter-in-law, Raynold and Christine Rios; his grandchildren Jenna (30), Dominick (25), Nicholas (21), Alison (17), Jackson (11), and great-grandson, Brixton (10 mos.)

Leonel was born in Cuba on February 12, 1944. He courageously immigrated to the United States during the Mariel Boatlift in 1980 with his wife and children, leaving behind his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Leonel aspired to provide himself and his family more freedom and opportunities. He obtained his US citizenship in 2013. He worked for Caesars Palace for more than 30 years.

Leo was always willing to help anyone. He would never pass up an opportunity to gather with his family and friends. He always believed the more the merrier; everyone was always welcome. He would be the first to offer you a glass of wine, beer or a Cuban coffee. He has passed down his love for the game of dominos to his grandchildren. Leo enjoyed nature, many times fishing with his grandsons. He loved being outside, planting squash and tomatoes in his garden. Leonel will forever be remembered for his kind eyes, infectious laugh and warm smile.

Memorial Service will be held On Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery 6701 North Jones Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89131. Reception in Honor of Leonel will take place immediately following the Graveside Service at the home of Carmen and John Nelson. Donations may be made in Leonel’s honor to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Leonel nació en Cuba el 12 de febrero de 1944. Leonel siempre será recordado por sus ojos amables, su risa contagiosa y su cálida sonrisa.

El servicio conmemorativo se llevará a cabo el jueves 29 de diciembre de 2022 a las 11:00 a. m. en Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery 6701 North Jones Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89131. La recepción en honor a Leonel se llevará a cabo inmediatamente después del entierro en la casa de Carmen y John Nelson.
