

Leroy was born on September 15, 1941 at Huey P Long Charity Hospital in Pineville, Louisiana to his parents Wilbur Milo and Myrtle Ruth Mitchell. He lived in Las Vegas, Nevada and graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1960. Leroy served in the US Navy from 1958-1984 and spent his military service stationed in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Tokyo, Saigon, Vietnam and Spain. During his time of service he earned several awards including Battle Efficiency "E" Award, Good Conduct Medal and Letters of Commendation. He was the owner of a business, Spotless Janitorial Service, for 23 years. Leroy was a loving father and an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints, Nascar and the Tour De France. Leroy liked bowling and was a member of the PT Cruiser Club served for a period of time as Chief Masters of Arms the U. S. S. Hancock CV/CVA-19 Association. He is survived by his siblings Mrs. Mildred Milo Mitchell and Tommy Milo; his children Velma, Gwendolyn, Rhonda, Hollie, Dolores; his grandchildren Simone, Jamal, Mikaela, Valencia, Selena, Venisha, Charles, Geraldine, Eleanor; great grandchildren Logan Lee, Quenell, Quintin, Caelynn; nephews Keith, Karl; uncle Wilbert Jr, ; and a host of other relatives and friends.
