LeRoy Robinson, age 79, more affectionately known as Roy Robinson, Dad, Pops, Papa, Grandpa, Uncle, and Brother, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
LeRoy Robinson was born August 7, 1945, in Salisbury, North Carolina to Randy L. and Luther Robinson. He was the third of five children. LeRoy enjoyed an active childhood in Salisbury, remaining close to his siblings. He was a member of the First Calvary Baptist Church. He attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Price High School with the class of 1963. He continued his education at Winston Salem State University.
He moved to Los Angeles, California in the late 1960s and remained close to his older brother (Adoris) and older sister (Lottie Ruth). LeRoy served in the Marine Reserves and worked for the City of Los Angeles. He married Madeline Moore and was blessed with three beautiful sons, Damond, DuJuan, and Daryl. LeRoy later moved his family to West Covina, California and ultimately retired from the City of Los Angeles. His West Covina home was the hub for gatherings for friends and family throughout the Southern California area. He regularly hosted BBQs and cookouts with family and friends enjoying great music, excellent quality time, watching sporting events, and swimming in the pool. LeRoy was a huge Raiders and Lakers fan.
LeRoy opened up to love after divorce with Jean Espeleta, and was blessed with a son, Seth, and a stepson, Tim. He continued to enjoy retired life and spending quality time with his family and close friends. He ultimately relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, joining both Damond and Dujuan and their beautiful families.
LeRoy was an exemplary and loving father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. He remained committed, caring, and loyal to his family, and LeRoy was extremely proud of each of his sons, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and siblings. He did not hesitate to call and lend his support to his family members and close friends.
LeRoy was preceded in death by both parents and two siblings, Adoris Robinson and Jackie Scott Robinson. LeRoy’s legacy and memories will be cherished, as he is survived by his sons Damond Robinson (Cynthia Robinson), DuJuan Robinson (Fonda Robinson), Daryl Robinson (MeLeah Robinson), and Seth Robinson; sister Lottie Ruth Knight; brother Ulysses A. Robinson; granddaughters Taryn Robinson and Savannah Robinson; grandsons Christian Robinson, Kaiden Robinson, Ashton Robinson, Daryon Robinson, TaRon Robinson, and Michael Robinson; nieces Michelle Robinson, Dawn Robinson, Jacqueline“Vonnie” Perry, and Starr Knight; nephews Kevin Robinson (Susan Robinson), Eric Robinson (Shelly Robinson), Feltone Williams, Mark Robinson (Ana Robinson), Christopher Robinson, and Steve Robinson, along with a host of other relatives and dear friends.
LeRoy may have left this world, but his spirit and loving memories will forever dwell in the hearts of those who were privileged to know and love him. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
