Lois Margaret Harencame of La Habra, California passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 Born on August 26, 1928 in the Borough of Swissvale, in Allegheny County of Pennsylvania, Lois was the daughter of James Morrison White and Loretta Margaret (Wandless) White and she was the oldest child of seven. Lois was baptized into the Christian faith at the Madonna del Costello Catholic Church, Swissvale, PA in September of 1928 and after moving to California publicly confessed her Christian faith when she was confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church, Pico Rivera, California. She dutifully taught her children to believe in Jesus and for many years taught Sunday School. Lois also served her church in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President and President, both in her church and as a Zone Officer in California and later in Boulder City, NV following her husband's retirement. Lois married Robert Ralph Harencame with family and a few friends in attendance on August 21, 1948. She always enjoyed telling of her Garden Reception in her mother's backyard. She was the beloved mother of two, her daughter Linda Newman (Drew) of Excelsior Springs, Missouri and Robert J Harencame (Michelle) of La Habra, California and Grandmother of five, Krika Stirdivant (Mark) of Beaumont, California; Blythe Larson (Ian) of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; Jennifer (Mark) McSharry of Chula Vista, Caifornia; Brenda (James) VanArsdall of La Habra, California and Kevin (Kate) Harencame serving in Wiesbaden, Germany. She is also by survived by five Great-grandchildren and three siblings and their spouses: Robert (Thelma) White, James (Aleta) White, Sandra Lee White, her sister-in-law, Suzanne White, each living in the greater Pittsburgh area, her brother-in-law, John Wallo of Cleveland Ohio and her best friend of over 70 years, Joyce Eyler of Whittier, California. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; Robert, her husband of 48 years, affectionately known as Hoagy; 3 siblings, Richard (Dick) White, Norma Jean (White) Rossi and most recently her sister, Marjorie Ann (White) Wallo. Services for Lois will be held on January 18, 2019, 1:20pm at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada 89005-1936 where she will be buried with her husband. Arrangements are being made throughPalm Downtown Mortuary.
