Lola Peterson Bechtel, 83, of Las Vegas, passed away June 16, 2011. She was born Jan. 10, 1928, in Springfield, Minn., and resided in Las Vegas since 1985. Before that, home was on Okinawa, Japan for many years. She retired from civil service work. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Della Peterson; and husband, Bill Bechtel. She is survived by her son, Bill Bechtel Jr.; daughters, Robin Bechtel (Wayne Chojnacki) and Jackie Tschogl (Bob); grandchildren, Dillon and Kayla Lysandrou; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia Leivermann, Betty McNall (Eugene), Peggy Roberts, and Marilynn Holtz. Memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89121.
