Born in Jersey City, N.J., Lorraine was the daughter of Polish immigrants, and the youngest of five daughters. In 1956, Lorraine married Robert “Bob” Schwarz. They were married for fifty years until Bob’s death in 2006. Lorraine was the mother of two children, Barbara and Kristine.
Lorraine was a successful businesswoman who owned the Lincoln Card & Gift Shop in the 1970’s and 1980’s in North Arlington, N.J., before she and Bob moved to Nutley, and then Little Egg Harbor, N.J. Lorraine and Bob moved to Las Vegas in the late 1990’s to escape the cold winters and to be closer to their daughter, Kristine. Lorraine loved her home, mystery and crime dramas, crossword puzzles, video poker, Seinfeld and other classic sitcoms. Lorraine was also a passionate lover of all animals, especially cats, and supported many organizations over the years that worked to end the cruelty of and neglect for animals. She made the best Italian red sauce and cheeseburgers, and always cooked up her family recipes for her daughter to take home.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Kristine. Her funeral will be a private ceremony for family members. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Humane Society or the ASPCA.
