28, 2019. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on May 3, 1931 and raised by her mother, Lillie
Graham. When she was ten years old, her family moved to Los Angeles, California where she
continued her education and became a hair stylist. During this time, she became the proud mother
of Lawrence L. Graham.
Lotis was a talented hair stylist to prominent entertainers and athletes. Her career lasted over 25
years. She was internationally known as Lady Lotis to Black celebrities such as Nat King Cole and
Joe Lewis. She won many awards for her hair creations. She also became a talent agent for Henry
Lawrence, Hall of Fame Pro-football player for the then L.A. Raiders who pursued a singer career.
While during hair, Lotis met her loving and attentive husband of almost 30 years, Nelson Murdock
Jr., who was serving in the Navy. They moved to Las Vegas, Nevada after their retirement and
remained married until his death.
Lotis was very loving and nurturing and later in life became known as Mother Murdock to many
church members and people in the community. Religion was instilled in her at an early age. Once
arriving in Las Vegas, she and her husband started attending Mountain Top Faith Ministries.
Lotis was preceded in death by her Mother; two brothers, J.D Graham and Harvey Graham and two
sisters Cleo Graham and Jonnie Mae Graham. She is survived by her son, grandson, Hason Nelson
Graham, and nine great grandchildren: Maurice, Sean, Kiana, Alexis, Elijah, Lilly, Jewelette, Gianna,
and Nasir. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends loved her dearly and will also miss
her.
