Last month I came across a picture I had of Dan and Lou from years ago
I took a moment to look into the faces of men that I have admired for years
I was young when I met them but so were they (LOL)
Lou took me under his wing when I started at Dynax
We had a lot of laughs and he was a good teacher with a gentile way about him
Many times I've used his â€œsix of one, half a dozen of the otherâ€ phrase and think of him to this day.
You were a good man with integrity which is not so common these days

I am so saddened to hear about your loss. Although I did not know Laura's father, if the wonderful person she is today is any indication of the great parents she is a product of, I know he must have been a great dad. I hope the love and prayers of your family and friends helps you through this difficult time.

Dear Dad,
You were my first valentine.  And today my heart is broken. I am thankful for the wonderful memories of our years together.  You taught me so many things, made so many sacrifices and worked so hard for our family.  I will miss your quiet wisdom, your smile and laughter, your sense of humor and your friendship.  The only silver lining I can find is that I see you through the features of my children.  You were a wonderful dad and grandfather and I'm going to miss you forever. Love You Always.

Hi Uncle Lou,

Rest in peace my greatest fan and role model. Grandpa Lou you were the perfect Grandfather and I am so lucky to be you're grandson. Thank you for always taking care of me and my two brothers. Also, thank you for always coming to my shows and music concerts when I was younger. I will always remember the times we spent building sandcastles, sledding down hills, visiting museums in London, NYC, Paris, Amsterdam,and Rome. I will especially remember that one special time where we built and launched that little toy aircraft in the backyard of Springbrook Drive when I was nine. The memories will not fade, I will always remember you. Its not goodbye, its see you someday:)

Here's to my mentor, my friend and my biggest supporter. Thank you for taking care of me when I couldn't take care of myself. You and Grandma were always there for us and made every holiday very special. It was great traveling the world with you. I could always count on your huge smile to make me feel better. I also thank you for being there to watch every sports game I played in. You even sat through my soccer games when I knew you preferred to watch me play baseball. I will miss playing catch with you on the beach during family vacations. We did it all together, so I have many found memories of you, but going on the tour of old Yankee Stadium sticks out the most. I'm glad I got to experience that with you and share our love for the Yankees together. I can take comfort in knowing you will always be with me. R.I.P Grandpa.

As an 8 year old boy, in the backseat of a car headed for Rockville, i was in full panic mode.All my relatives would say hello john, how are you...but not uncle lou, he tested me. Like A GUNFIGHTER in a white stetson, he'd say...what do you say john....then the sly smile, i was foiled again...cool uncle lou always made us feel right at home, first house with HBO and an above ground SWIMMING POOL, i miss those summer days. if i heard What do you say john now...id say were gonna miss a good and noble man!!

Uncle Louie, I will always remember your soft laugh, and how very calm you were in the  midst of our high energy family. You will be sorely missed, but know that you had a tremendous influence in how I approach my life. Love to my Aunt Virginia, cousins Laura, Frank, Steve, Brian, Paul and Alex.

Rest in peace Louie. When I think back to when we first met, I thought you were a big shot coming to pick Virginia up in your car...you were just 18 years old! Louie was a great husband and father; Virginia, Laura and Frank always came first. You are loved and remembered as a husband, father,grandfather and all around good man. You taught me how to be an uncompromising protector of my family, as you showed the way every day. You and I always got along and I'm happy to say, I always knew you liked me from the start of my relationship with your family. Thank you for your generosity and warmth. What more can a son-in-law ask for? I will remember the countless vacations, Yankee games and the help you gave us bringing up the boys. You were not a man of open sentiment, so I will say it in the style you would most emulate- You're a good man, Lou Smedile.

Grandpa Lou,

You were the greatest grandfather anyone could ask for. You were there from the very beginning. I remember the many times you and Grandma would drive over from Long Island to help my parents in the early days. There were many fond memories of times at the beach, Christmas, Disney World, and Europe. You and Grandma certainly did it all. Even though we did not get to say goodbye, I know you are in a better place and we will see each other again. Hopefully, they have TV in heaven so you can still watch your favorite baseball team, The New York Yankees. I know Spanky will miss you most of all. You two seemed to get along well these last few years. Anyway, I will end by saying we love you and we are going to miss you.

Very sorry to hear the news.  I too worked with Lou at Dynax. Lou was a gentle soul and could always bring a smile to my face.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

So sorry to hear the sad news. I had the pleasure of working with Lou at Dynax. He was a kind and generous person, with a great sense of humor.  He touched many lives and will be missed.
