Martha Louise Harris Brettschneider passed away peacefully on June 13, 2019 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Louise was three days shy of her 85th birthday. Louise was born in Celeste, TX on June 16, 1934. She was formerly from Birmingham, Michigan prior to relocating to Las Vegas with her husband, Carl Brettschneider.
Louise was a hostess with TWA for many years before becoming a full-time homemaker and mother in Birmingham, MI. Louise credits her mother with encouraging her to interview with TWA, which became her career and pathway out of small-town life in Texas.
She was an active member of several organizations, playing bridge, tennis, and golf. She attended First Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, MI and then Grace Presbyterian Church when she relocated to Las Vegas.
Louise was widowed to Carl Brettschneider from Dundee, IL who passed away in 2014. Also, her parents, Thomas and Eva Harris; three brothers, Thomas, Richard, and Mac Harris have all preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Brad; daughter-in-law, Lisa; two granddaughters, Blair and Lane; sister, Marry Morris of Texas. She will be remembered and missed by many, as she was always upbeat, positive, encouraging, and loving.
The family will host Life Celebration events in Las Vegas and in the Detroit area in the coming weeks.
