Lucia Jamyne Williams Polk

Lucia’s education started in Chicago, Illinois and continued in Inglewood, California at St. John Chrysostom Catholic School for elementary and middle school. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy as a gold tie member of the class of 1986. While attending St. Mary’s Academy Lucia was an active member of the cheerleading squad. After graduating high school, Lucia attended California State University, Northridge for two years.

At 23, she married Kashi Polk and from this union came four children; Takasha, Bradley, Hunter, and Maddox. Kashi and Lucia’s family migrated from Southern California to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2000. Lucia was a career driven wife and mother whose infectious personality impacted the lives of each and every person she encountered.

What was dear to Lucia’s heart was singing, dancing, and interacting with people from many different walks of life. Chia truly never met a stranger. She developed a passion for participating in Praise and Worship.

Lucia was welcomed into heaven on September 18, 2017, at the age of forty-eight years old, by her son Hunter, step-father Michael Rice, and her grandmother Lucia “Sista” Gite.

She is survived by her mother Patricia; father James; step-mother Gwen; husband Kashi; children Takasha, Bradley and Maddox; grandchildren Saniya and Sebastian; siblings Nicholas and Tiffany; and a host of family who loved her and friends who will never forget her.
