

A man who loved life, Luciano Peirano, 97 years young, of Las Vegas, NV passed away on March 19, 2026. Luciano was born on December 7, 1928, in Sestri Levante, Italy. He worked as the chief refrigeration engineer on merchant ships all over the world and joined Carnival Cruise Lines for the last fifteen years of his career. After retiring, Luciano and his wife Joanne moved to Las Vegas. In 2003, he was very proud to become a U.S. Citizen.
An active volunteer, he was named Las Vegas Citizen of the Month, primarily for his stewardship of Wayne Bunker Park. There he loved to play bocce ball with friends. Luciano excelled at trap shooting, winning a first prize trophy in his first year of competition. He prepared delicious meals using fresh produce from his garden and fruit trees. Guests were treated to limoncello, pesto, jams, and amazing Italian entrees.
Luciano is survived by his wife Joanne, daughters Barbara and Maura of Italy, grandchildren Jonathan of Italy and Fiammetta of Switzerland, stepsons Scott, Tom and Mark Miller and many step-grandchildren, step-great -grandchildren and his precious pug, Bella Luna.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincenzo and Assunta Peirano, brothers Giorgio and Aldo, sister Luciana, and beloved grandson Amedeo.
A memorial service will be held at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 2-3 pm. Please join the family for a meal following the service from 3-6pm.
