On Thursday morning, April 2, 2020, as the curtain rang down on her earthy life, the angel of silence came and beckoned her to a better home. She saw a new heaven and a new earth where God will wipe away all tears and there shall be no more pain, neither sorrow, nor crying, no more death, for the former things are passed away.
The second of five children, Mother Lucille Moreland was born on October 21, 1930 in Tallulah, Louisiana, to the late Trosie Mason and Goldstein Johnson.
In 1947 Lucille united in Holy Matrimony with her love, the late George Moreland. To this union 4 children were born, and later she birthed 8 more children. In total Lucille had 12 children. She instilled in her children the importance of love and family. She wanted to ensure that her grandchildren had those same values.
She accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. L.T. Peterson. Later she became a member at Anointed Tabernacle under the leadership of the later Almary Gaston, and later became a member of Prince of Peace Ministries where she was the "Mother" of the church under the leadership of Pastor Malcolm L. Gaines.
Mother Lucille received her education in Tallulah, Louisiana. She moved to Las Vegas in 1960 at the age of 30 to give her children a better life. She then insisted to seek employment at the Dunes Hotel as a housekeeper and then to later retire from the Clark County School District.
