

Mack Brown, Jr. was born on October 6, 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana to deceased parents N.E. Jenkins and Mack Brown, Sr. as the youngest sibling among Ruth (deceased), Eddie Ray, and Willie Ray (deceased). Mack was raised in Louisiana, Seattle, Washington and finally Hollywood, California. A natural musician, Mack played the drums and always dreamed of playing in the Grambling State band.
Mack spent years working with his hands in various fields in the construction industry, paving, gold mining, building maintenance, and poolside engineering. He was a renowned colleague and a friend to everyone.
Mack has been married for 42 ½ years to his best friend and spouse Sonya Dinyeshon Foster-Brown of Fresno, California. They eloped in love on October 9, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mack is a beloved father to three children who survive him: LaGean Demar Brown (49)-Candace Brown (spouse), Richard Warren Brown (42), and Tiana Carol Brown Purvis (40). He is blessed with 4 grandchildren: Tahira Dinyce Johnson (17), Jahzara Elyce Purvis (12), Elijah Mack Purvis (8) and Chloe Estelle Marie Brown (7). He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and colleagues.
Our beloved husband and father left this earth after a long, hard fought battle with lung cancer. A fighter until the end, he was called home on July 15, 2022 at the age of 71 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mack requested a cremation and that we scatter his remains in the Nashua River, one of his most cherished spots, in Nashua, NH.
