Margaret Ann (Peggy) Anderson Hegner, aged 73, a long time resident of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday morning, October 22, 2020 after a two year battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Ann (Bettie) Bayer, and her grandparents.
She is survived by her 93 year old father, John D. Anderson, her husband of over 30 years, Richard L. Hegner; her two sons, Gordon Dixon and Jeremy Lane; Grandchildren, Logan Dixon & Emery Lane. She is also survived by her maternal aunt & uncle, Margaret (Peggy)& LtCol US Large; her siblings Elizabeth (Beth) Anderson Einig, David Anderson, Richard Bayer, Kim Levine, Bob Bayer and Lisa Cope. She is also survived by a step son, Chris Hegner and his family; along with many cousins and extended family and friends.
Peggy was born in Seattle, Washington but grew up in Rock Hill, Missouri, graduating from Webster Groves High school. She spent her youth boating, water skiing & camping with her family on the Mississippi River near St. Louis. Ice Skating in winter was something else she loved. Then there was her love of Modern Dance.
Peggy moved to Las Vegas in the mid 1970’s and began her career in the casino industry as an excellent Black Jack dealer, working with many large casinos over the years and retiring from Bellagio about 10 years ago.
Peggy was a devoted mother to her children, grandchildren and also her dogs. She was a serious dog lover and took in many strays. But family was her life and she had many Thanksgiving gatherings at her house over the years. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Celebration of Life Services will be at Palm Downtown Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., Las Vegas, NV. 89101. Visitation will be at 12:00pm with Funeral Service beginning at 1:00pm.
