Marianne Marti, an angel on earth and now an angel in heaven, passed away on April 8, 2022. Although born with Spina Bifida that left her disabled, she never let it get her down. She had a sweet and loving spirit. She was loved by all who knew her. She did well in school, took classes at community college but eventually left to help her mom and dad with their balloon bouquet business where she answered the phone and took all the orders. She learned to play piano as a child and would play to her mother's delight. She had a special love for animals and seriously studied them growing up. She received an award for 5 years of volunteer work at University Medical Center where she was born and had many surgeries. She went on countless trips throughout her life with her mom and dad. San Diego was a favorite. There were trips to Ohio to visit relatives. She got to visit several National parks. On another trip, they saw the pope in his pope mobile in AZ. Since her dad was a Notre Dame football fan, they attended a game and visited the cathedral and shrine. Marianne never missed a Notre Dame game when they were on TV. Marianne was an enthusiastic crafts person making many beautiful and unique gifts. All her life she enjoyed all kinds of board and card games. In her later years, she took up puzzles with her brother John. 1000 pieces was nothing for her. Marianne was a member of a prayer group that she attended on Zoom. It was apparent to anyone who had the honor of knowing Marianne that she had a light unlike most people, a genuine compassion that is rare to see. She will be deeply missed.
Marianne is preceded in death by her parents Jim and Virgina Marti, siblings Jimmy Marti, Patty Taylor and John Marti. She is survived by her sister Linda Grable, Nephew Lee Whitney, Nieces Diana Whitney, Christina Whitney, great nephew and niece Lee Whitney and Ella Whitney and many cousins.
Service will be held at St Elizabeth Ann Seton located at 1811 Pueblo Vista, Las Vegas, NV 89128 on Monday, May 2, 2022, Eulogy at 10:30am and Mass at 11:00am. Service will be live streamed through the church’s website and will be viewable for two weeks.
