Marna F. Dreier, 82, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, joining her late husband, Dr. Robert L. Dreier, whom she married in 1957, and they later moved to Las Vegas in 1958. Born May 6, 1931 in San Jose, CA to Stephen and Doris Fidel. She was raised and attended Highland Elementary School in the Santa Cruz mountains and graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1949. She went on to become a registered nurse graduating from San Jose State and working at Santa Clara County Hospital. Marna is survived by three Dreier sons, Benjamin, Kenneth and Dennis; and two daughters, Rebecca (Michael) Little, and Heidi Dreier; eight grandchildren (Alex, Kenna, Brenton (their mother Mary), Max, Alyssa, Andrew, Cheyenne and Maya); two great grandchildren (Alyiah and Declan); brother Stan (Diane) Fidel, and sisters Nadine (Mike) Kubas, and Betty Ann (R.O.) Darnell. She devoted her life to her husband and family and took great joy in baking for them and for fundraisers, as well as volunteering for special events. She had a remarkable memory for friends' names and their extended family. Because of her "dislike" of flying, family vacations by car took much longer. She also enjoyed gardening, listening to Vince Scully's broadcast of the Los Angeles Dodger baseball games, singing in the church choir, and being a part of the medical society. Dear to her heart were the special times catching up with the ladies of the "Hot Lunch Bunch" throughout the years. Viewing will be Sunday, July 14, from 3-6 p.m., with Rosary immediately following 6-7 p.m., at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, at Our Lady of Las Vegas, 3050 Alta Drive, and Burial following at Bunkers Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
