

Marvin E. “Woody” Woods, 70, of North Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011, with his family at his side. He was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, March 5, 1941 to his mother Carrie Elizabeth and later adopted by her husband Kenneth Goff. Woody served three tours during the Vietnam War and received a number of awards throughout his 24 year term in the Army. On March 1, 1981 he was promoted to Master Sergeant and retired in April of 1983. A Hawaii resident since 1978, Woody moved to Las Vegas with his wife in 2002 to be with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Susie Tu.; daughter, Janie Elizabeth; Son, Kenneth Edward and his wife Korin Keona’ona; granddaughters, Serena Elizabeth and Keli Elizabeth; grandsons, Chance Kenneth Edward, Po’okela Enrique and Kekoa Evan; other dear family and friends. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed dearly and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
