Mary Nell Fortune was born in Arcadia, Louisiana on January 2, 1946 to Carry Ann Johnson and John D. Johnson. As a child Mary would love to play with her siblings, Tommy, John D., Joann (who proceeded her in death), and Willie D of Las Vegas, Nevada. Mary touched the hearts of many people during her fulfilling life and she will be greatly missed by all who experienced the pleasure of encountering her. Mary received Christ at a young age. Mary worked in the Hotel & Hospitality Field for many years and retired from the Historical Aladdin Hotel and Casino as a Casino Porter. She was a devoted member at River of Life Word Ministry, where she loved to praise the Lord. Mary was a loving Mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. On December 9, 1971 Mary married Cleo Fortune who proceeded her in Death. She leaves behind her two sons Arluster (Dale) Johnson and Marquis Johnson, 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a large host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
