to Bennie and Bessie Harris in Pearl Mississippi. She attended Mt. Elam Baptist Church and
Carter High school.
Mary left the South at a young age and moved to Las Vegas, NV in the 1960’s, joined the culinary
union and worked in the hotel & casino industry for many years. She was a long-standing
member of St. Paul C.O.G.I.C. in her early adult years and in her later years a member of
Pentecostal Temple until her son Gregory Henderson opened the doors of Antioch Ministries
and became her pastor. It was there she served happily on the Mother Board, and most recently
joined the church home of his good friends Pastor and First Lady Conedy at First Church of God
Assembly after God called her son home. She also worked with ACN on a business endeavor and
gained lots of love and friends
She loved with all of her heart and loved the Lord most of all. She was faithful to prayer
service and praying for the well-being of others. She loved gospel music and loved to sing the
old hymns, especially Amazing Grace, Power Lord and I won’t complain, and if you seen her
smile you knew it was as golden as her testimony. Everyone she touched regarded her as a
warm and sweet heart.
She was baby sister to many, Louise to others, she was mama, big mama, aunty and
grandmother. She was cousin to some and friend to many she was a wife who’s love amounted
to plenty.
She is preceded in death by her son Gregory Henderson, her daughter Gwendolyn Garrett,
parents Bessie & Bennie Harris Sr., paternal grandparents Ben and Amelia Harris, maternal
grandparents James and Laura Carr, her youngest brother Arthur Lee Harris, and her
maternal grandparents James and Laura Carr.
Mary is survived by her husband Tony Ladd, her sons Tracy Harris, Frankie Henderson
(Reggie), Danny Henderson, Frank Henderson, Alvin Henderson and her daughters Sonya
Cromwell, Paula Bonier, Tina Henderson, Cynthia Brooks, Darlene Henderson and Dorothy
Henderson.

Ruth Harris, Luvester Carter (Tut) and brothers Bennie Jr Harris (Buddy) and Isham Harris
(Ike), a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, in-laws
and friends.
She ran her race and although she wanted to live to be 101 years old, God saw fit to
call her home on July 4, 2018. She left a legacy of love and laughter, and she will be a
soul that will be dearly missed.
