Maxine J. Stern, 84, of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 27, 2010. She was born Oct. 29, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and resided in Nevada for 25 years. She worked with the school district and Parks and Recreation for over 20 years in Clark County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Stern. Maxine is survived by her son, Arthur R. Stern; daughter, Linda D. Stern; sister, Joyce Stein; and granddaughter, Jackie D. Gemlich, all of Las Vegas. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2. Visitation also 10-11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, with service following at 11 a.m., all at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside service following at 1:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
