

Mercedes A. Harker 1939 – 2014 Las Vegas – Mercedes (Mercy) Aranguren Harker, 75, passed away on Sunday morning, June, 29th, after a six and a half year battle with cancer. She was born in Havana, Cuba on May 28, 1939, only daughter of the late Nestor and Mercedes (Ponsico) Aranguren. Mercy immigrated to the United States at the age of 23 settling in Los Angeles, CA where she met and married her eternal companion, Benjamin Harker. Mercy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served faithfully in various leadership callings throughout her life. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and genealogy. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Benjamin Harker, her sons Michael Harker of Las Vegas, NV and Phillip Harker (Nicole) of Draper, UT, and her daughter Christine Dayton (McKay) of Las Vegas, NV. Her memory also remains alive in her 10 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at the LDS Church located at 9011 Hillpointe Road in Las Vegas, NV at 11:00am with a viewing prior to service at 9:30am) on Saturday, July 5th, 2014. Arrangements are under the direction of Palm Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89129.
