

Michael was born on December 7, 1954 in Montrose, Colorado. He graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He began his engineering career by working for Ford Micro-Electronics in Research and Development. While there, he received a United States Patent for inventing a release switch to be used in Ford automobiles . In 1999, he moved to Portland, Oregon to work for ON Semi-conductor where he designed a portfolio of semi-conductor components that addressed the design needs of electronic systems and products. He was a sincere and thoughtful individual who loved science, technology, whale watching, and his dog, Samson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Barbara Javernick of Colorado Springs, CO. Michael is survived by his wife Carol Rose Javernick of HappyValley,OR; son, Matthew and his wife, Kristal of Castle Rock, CO; daughter, Lisa and her husband, Andrew Schlaupitz of Phoenix, AZ; two granddaughters, Kalena Elyse Javernick and Harmony Rose Schlaupitz; and two stepsons, Ryan and Brandon Bickham. His children will remember him as a gentle and patient father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and was proud of their accomplishments. A memorial service is planned in the summer in Colorado Springs, CO.
