He was born on May 4, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to Morton and Ruthanne Wittes.
Michael graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1979 and became a teacher. He taught driver’s education, health, gym, and math over the years at both Trabuco Hills High School and Warren Township High School. He coached softball, basketball, and golf. He retired in May 2019.
He spent his days playing pickleball, golf and riding around in his golf cart. He was well known for his love of sports, especially the Chicago White Sox.
He is survived by his daughters, Breanna and Britney, nephew, Michael, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elizabeth McClatchey.
There is no service currently planned but a celebration of life will be held in Illinois.
