

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Yurick, and by his beloved wife, Terry (Jones) Yurick.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Williams (Chuck) and Michelle Acord (Robert); his five grandchildren, Jason, Heather, Amy, Sarah, and Megan; and his sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous pride and joy. He is also survived by his longtime friend and devoted caregiver, Donna Talcott.
Michael's greatest passion in life was motorsports. His love of racing included NHRA drag racing, NASCAR, and sprint car racing. His distinguished career in the racing industry began at Island Dragway in New Jersey and led him across the country, where he held management positions at several renowned racing venues, including Sonoma Raceway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Indianapolis Raceway Park, Auto Club Speedway in California and Gainesville Raceway. Throughout his career, he also assisted numerous tracks with parking and traffic operations. Michael left a lasting impression everywhere he worked, earning the respect and friendship of countless people who became like family to him.
Michael will be remembered for his dedication, his passion for racing, his strong work ethic, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
There will be a celebration of life at Gainesville Raceway during the Gatornationals in March 2027. Date and time to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael's honor to D.R.A.W. (Drag Racing Association of Women) or the NASCAR Foundation.
