Michael Walter Wyas, 95, of Las Vegas, passed May 30, 2013. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a retired bricklayer. Moving to Las Vegas in the 1940’s, Mike helped shape and build Las Vegas. He is predeceased by his parents Agnes May and Mike Wyas. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Wyas; stepson Charlie Locke and Stepdaughter Nicholette Gates; and five step grandchildren. Mike was a proud member of the Las Vegas Elks Lodge #1468, a 33rd degree Mason Scottish Rite and a Shriner, a member of the Jesters, and a 75 year member of the Bricklayers Union. Services scheduled for June 6, 2013; Visitation at 10am, Funeral at 11am with burial following, all at Palm Downtown Mortuary, 1325 North Main Street. A reception will follow at the Zelzah Shrine at 1pm, 2222 West Mesquite Avenue. Family requests donations be made to a charity of choice in Mike’s name.
