Monica Shaw

Monica Shaw, 39, of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 17, 2013. She was born Feb. 18, 1973, in El Paso, Texas. Monica fought many medical battles throughout her life, never accepting complacency for perseverance. She is loved by many and a true hero to anybody who knew her story. She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Garcia Sr. She is survived by her husband, Michael Troy Shaw; daughters, Emma I. Irvine and Tiffany N. Shaw; mother, Isabel V. Garcia; brothers, Eddie Garcia Jr. (Rebecca) and Dr. Gabriel Garcia (Orion); sister, Julia M. Garcia; nephews, Andrew and Alexander; nieces, Madeline, Addison and Sophia; and an endless list of family and close friends. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Mass and services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 22, at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89106.
