Ernesto “Ness” Antonio Frillarte (nicknamed Ernie) was born to Pedro and Leonida Frillarte on June 30,1939. He passed away quietly on March 9, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada with his wife Virginia Frillarte by his side.
He grew up in Tondo, Manila and attended FEATI University for one year before he started a job traveling the world with his late brother Freddie (Precioso) and their friends. He eventually immigrated to the United States in the 1970s and lived in Florida, then eventually moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1978. He then met Virginia, his wife of almost 47 years, through mutual friends. They married on May 7, 1979 and were blessed with three children: Edelyn, Eugene, and Erin.
He worked many jobs throughout his lifetime from working as a waiter in many venues, including on a ship, at Disney World, and many High End restaurants. He then finished his working career at UMC as a Surgical Services Transporter in 2002. He was actively involved in the Filipino Community in Las Vegas in the 1990s. He held many leadership positions, including the Sergeant at Arms of Luzon Philippines Association of Nevada.
He had a booming sense of humor and was always joking around with his family and friends. In his younger years he enjoyed nothing but boxing. He was the glove man for Mike Tyson and he also judged matches. He loved music and singing - he was never afraid to show his talents. He even played congo drums in a band in the 1970s, and up to his later years, he was always seeking for a karaoke bar or venue to spend his time. Singing made him happy. He also loved to do word search puzzles in his down time, play penny slots or video poker, and collect sneakers to match every outfit.
Ness is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Precioso, Nilaluz, Nilda, Rudolfo, Fernando, and Maria Luisa. He was the last sibling of his family to survive. He is survived by his wife Virginia Frillarte, children Edelyn Frillarte, Eugene Frillarte, Erin Frillarte, his sons-in-law Ray Sarafian and Jeremy Harper, and grandson Noah Harper.
Visitation will be 11am-3pm, Sunday March 29, 2026 at Palm Mortuary Northwest on North Jones. Funeral services will be held 11am-12pm Monday March 30, 2026 at Palm Mortuary Northwest, with Father Frank Yncierto officiating. Burial will follow at 12pm.
